About

amy gudgeon
I am a social sector consultant who is on a mission to to bring clarity and sustainability to the nonprofit sector. I’m a lifelong learner with 15+ years of experience working with nonprofit organizations and government agencies.

I’ve consulted on projects for national organizations, such as: The Gates Foundation, Urban Libraries Council, Citizen Schools, Girl Scouts, and the Wallace Foundation, but I am also deeply commitment to local Chicago issues, having collaborated on projects for: After School Matters, Free Spirit Media, Urban Initiatives and ACCESS Community Health Network.

I am a relentless Chicago advocate and volunteer.  In the past, I have served as a board member with the social enterprise, Sweet Beginnings and Tuesday’s Child. My passion for children and families has extended to supporting projects for Chicago Public Schools, National Council for Jewish Women and Test400K. I graduated from Indiana University with a BS in Public Affairs, hold an MPA from the University of Illinois and a certificate from the Harvard Kennedy School.

When I’m not working or meeting with my clients, you’ll find me laughing with my family, playing in my garden, or spending as much time as possible outside.

“Studio Watershed led us through an organized and inclusive strategic planning process. They gave us the capacity and support necessary to ask the right questions and conduct the research to map out our next three years. The operational and financial expertise they brought to the table was essential in supporting our efforts to develop a business model to support the next phase of our growth. I strongly recommend other nonprofits consider working with Studio Watershed, especially if you’re looking for a consultant that will work both with your team and for your organization.”
